With the rapid development of science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been deeply integrated into the field of education, and the teaching of English at the secondary school level, as a key link in the cultivation of high-quality skilled talents, is in urgent need of innovative change. This paper firstly proposes a secondary school English vocabulary teaching model using natural language processing (NIP) technology, which integrates key technologies such as Wikipedia corpus, semantic similarity computation, Word2vec tool, etc., aiming at solving the dilemmas faced in the traditional English vocabulary teaching process. Finally, the teaching practice shows that the experimental group is significantly higher than the control group in learning motivation (affective experience, cognitive level and behavioral tendency) in relation to test scores (p<0.05). Therefore, the use of NIP technology has brought a positive impact on the reform of English vocabulary teaching in secondary schools.
