The integration of Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in maritime operations offers transformative potential for optimizing vessel performance, improving safety, and reducing operational costs. This study explores how real-time monitoring and data analytics, enabled by IoT sensors, enhance operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and navigational safety. By utilizing data from weather conditions, AIS systems, and IoT devices, vessels can adapt to environmental challenges, minimizing risks and improving route safety. Additionally, the study emphasizes fuel optimization and cost reduction through improved resource utilization. This integrated approach fosters the development of smart ships, ports, and transportation systems, offering significant economic and environmental benefits. The research also highlights gaps in current applications and proposes a comprehensive model for optimizing all vessel systems, enhancing sustainability, and improving maritime engineering practices.
