Abstract

This study aims to systematically review and compile existing literature to provide a comprehensive and in-depth understanding. Artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked considerable debate regarding the radical transformation of human resource management (HRM), helping organizations improve strategic decision-making, automate processes, and enhance workforce management. Despite the increasing adoption of AI-enhanced HRM practices, current studies have shown mixed results concerning the impact of AI on employee performance, job satisfaction, and organizational outcomes.
Based on PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) guidelines, this study analyzed peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2026, extracted from major indexed academic databases, specifically Scopus and Web of Science. A structured search strategy was employed, utilizing keywords strongly related to artificial intelligence and human resource management.
The findings suggest that adopting artificial intelligence (AI) tools in human resource management significantly enhances employee performance by increasing productivity and operational efficiency, enabling data-driven strategic decision-making, and facilitating the implementation of tailored HR practices. However, its impact on job satisfaction remains mixed. While some studies indicate positive effects due to reduced workload and increased autonomy, others highlight concerns related to job insecurity, ethical issues, and fairness. Ultimately, AI contributes to improved productivity and operational efficiency, strategic alignment, and a strong competitive advantage at the organizational level.
This study has enriched the literature by integrating numerous disparate findings into a comprehensive and unified framework, and by identifying key research gaps through a review of relevant previous literature. It also offers practical insights for organizations seeking to effectively and efficiently implement artificial intelligence in human resource management while simultaneously safeguarding employee well-being.
