Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the innovation acceleration methodology in developing innovative solutions and its institutional impact in government entities. The study adopted a quasi-experimental approach based on a one-group design with pre- and post-measurements. The study sample consisted of 773 employees working in Saudi government entities. A data collection instrument was developed, consisting of 40 items distributed across five main axes: innovation acceleration methodology, quality of innovative solutions, and institutional impact (represented by five dimensions: time efficiency, performance efficiency, technology adoption, digital transformation, and competitiveness). The validity and reliability of the instrument were verified, with the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the entire measurement tool reaching 0.94. To test the study hypotheses, a paired-samples t-test was used to compare the means of the pre- and post-measurements.
The results revealed statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurements in the development of innovative solutions, in favor of the post-measurement. The findings also indicated significant improvements in time efficiency across all stages of the innovation process. Furthermore, the results confirmed the positive institutional impact of the methodology across four dimensions (time efficiency, performance efficiency, technology adoption, and digital transformation), while no statistically significant differences were found in the competitiveness dimension.
The study recommended adopting the innovation acceleration methodology as an institutional framework within government entities, designing training programs based on iterative practices and time-constrained innovation techniques, linking these programs to the quality of innovative solutions, and conducting longitudinal studies to examine the sustainability of competitiveness outcomes. It also recommended investigating the influence of leadership practices and resource availability on innovation acceleration.
