Demographic Analysis of Satisfaction among China Palace Digital Museum Visitors

Visitor satisfaction is a critical determinant of the sustainable development of digital museums because it shapes public engagement with cultural heritage. This study examines the influence of demographic characteristics on user satisfaction with the China Palace Digital Museum’s online platform. The research was guided by the End‑User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) model. Data were collected via an online questionnaire structured around the EUCS dimensions, yielding 400 valid responses from participants diverse in gender, age, occupation, and place of residence. Data analysis comprised descriptive statistics, independent‑samples t‑tests, and one‑way analysis of variance. Results indicate that overall user satisfaction ranged from moderate to high. Information timeliness and system responsiveness received the most favorable evaluations, whereas content novelty and update frequency were rated comparatively lower. Statistically significant differences in satisfaction emerged across age groups, employment status, and residential area, while no significant differences were observed for gender or geographic region. Younger users, urban residents, and specific occupational cohorts reported higher satisfaction than older adults, rural residents, and retired participants.
