An Intervention Study on the Development of University English Oral Fluency Enabled by the Virtual World in the Context of Digital Transformation of Education

Abstract

This study explores the construction of virtual worlds in university education and their integration with English oral language classes. From a university, 105 sophomore students were selected and divided into a control group and an experimental group for a teaching intervention experiment. The experiment focused on students' English oral fluency and used the independent sample T-test method to verify the effectiveness of virtual teaching in improving students' time-related and expressive indicators. The study found that after 10 weeks of intervention, students in the experimental group showed varying degrees of improvement compared to the control group, and the improvement was significant. The English oral language virtual world built with VR technology can enhance the learning interest of university students and significantly improve the teaching effect.
