TPM Implementation to Increase OEE of the Winch and Roller Box in a Service Company, Antofagasta 2025

Latin-American industrial service operations depend on hoisting winches and roller boxes whose unplanned stoppages cascade into safety and economic losses, yet the 2024–2026 empirical record on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for such mobile critical assets is virtually absent. This study quantifies whether the classical four-phase TPM model — preparation, introduction, implementation and consolidation — increases the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of these assets in a transnational service operation in Antofagasta. A pre/post quasi-experimental design tracked a census of 25 critical units (12 winches, 13 roller boxes) over 16 pre- and 16 post-intervention weeks. Aggregate OEE rose from 67,402 % to 86,254 % (Δ = +18,852 pp; t(15) = 88,494; p < 0,001; Hedges' g = 14,87), driven by availability (+11,496 pp) and effectiveness (+8,539 pp); quality stabilised near ceiling. The findings provide first quantitative evidence of TPM transferability to Latin-American mobile transport assets.
