The secure and efficient sharing of medical health records across diverse healthcare systems remains a significant challenge due to data fragmentation, varying data standards, and concerns over privacy and interoperability. Heterogeneous medical health record sharing using blockchain technology presents a promising solution by enabling decentralized, tamper-resistant, and patient-centric data exchange across multiple healthcare providers. Leveraging the principles of heterogeneous blockchain systems, this approach facilitates interoperability between different electronic health record (EHR) platforms while maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and GDPR. By utilizing smart contracts, permissioned blockchains, and cross-chain communication protocols, healthcare providers can share patient data in real-time without compromising confidentiality or ownership. This abstract explores the architecture, key components, benefits, and implementation challenges of such a system, highlighting its potential to transform healthcare data management through improved coordination, reduced administrative overhead, and enhanced patient outcomes.
