Abstract

PURPOSE
This study aims to examine the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Human Resource Management (HRM), with a particular focus on sustainability and human-centric values. It investigates how AI reshapes organizational operations, enhances decision-making, and supports long-term sustainable HR practices. The research seeks to consolidate existing knowledge, identify key themes, and explore the interplay between AI adoption, ethical HR practices, and organizational resilience, thereby providing insights into how AI can be strategically leveraged for sustainable and human-centered HR transformation.
Methodology
A qualitative research approach was employed, analyzing articles published between 2015 and 2025 and indexed in the Scopus database. Bibliometric visualization was conducted using VOSviewer to identify influential studies and citation patterns, while thematic analysis was applied to interpret expert insights and recurring concepts. The combination of bibliometric and thematic analyses enabled the identification of central themes, patterns, and gaps in the literature related to AI adoption and sustainability
Findings
The study finds that AI boosts productivity, supports ethical HR practices, and strengthens learning and development. Key themes include automation, AI-enabled learning, sustainable adoption, and human-centric innovation. Effective AI implementation relies on managerial structures, culture, and technology integration, highlighting its potential to drive resilient, ethical, and sustainable HR practices.
Originality or Value
This study consolidates insights on AI in HRM and proposes a conceptual framework for its ethical, sustainable application. Using bibliometric and thematic analyses, it highlights AI-driven HR transformation, emphasizing alignment with human-centric and sustainability principles, while offering practical and theoretical guidance for managers to foster innovation, efficiency, and organizational resilience.
