Abstract

In recent years Photovoltaic technology has achieved tremendous growth as a sustainable source of energy. Silicon cells are more effective in turning sunlight into energy, but they have higher production costs. Off late specialized category of solar cells like Perovskite solar cells (PSC) emerged which can be used in satellites and the military application, which is the very low weight with high efficiencies and comparatively lower in cost. This paper gives an intensive assessment on the near investigation of PSC with other PV cells and its proficiency examination. Between every one of the three ages of photovoltaic cells and boundaries like Short Circuit Current Density (Jsc), Open Circuit Voltage (Voc), Fill Factor (FF) and Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) is studied.  Many factors, such as the composition of the material, the methods used during manufacture, and the surrounding environment, might affect the performance of perovskite solar cells. In order to forecast and comprehend how these photovoltaic cells operate in various settings, simulation tools serve as a useful and cost-effective platform. Perovskite PV cell simulation using Silvaco Atlas software and SCAPS 1D were studied for the analysis. A detailed survey and comparative study are done and its durability, reliability, efficiency, stability and price variations are presented in this paper, which would be helpful to pursue research on perovskite solar cells in the future.
