Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between fiscal efficiency policies and the dynamics of interest contestation in the process political budget in Papua Province Mountains as area new autonomy. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design. case through analysis of APBD documents 2023–2026, interview deep with Team Budget Government Area, Budget Agency, and the Papua Mountains People's Assembly. This differs from previous research which tend separate between fiscal efficiency and budget politics, this study shows that these two aspects interact with each other. in a way dynamic, especially in condition pressure fiscal and limited institutional capacity.
