Abstract

The utilization of solar energy for power stations has gained popularity in recent years. However, due to unpredictable weather conditions and solar irradiance, relying solely on solar energy for power supply throughout the day is not feasible, resulting in an inconsistent power supply to the load. To address the abovementioned issues, this paper addressed by proposing a two-stage grid-connected solar PV system that incorporates an enhanced energy balance control approach that adequately balances the power flow delivery to the load with constant voltage and a properly charged battery. The implementation of the proposed work is evaluated in two stages. Firstly the maximum power point algorithm (MPP) based on POASMC(Perturb& observe adaptive sliding mode control) is used for stochastic solar PV, then integration of an energy storage system with solar PV through a PI controller. Moreover, in the secondary stage, a power flow control logic is proposed and implemented to synchronize solar PV with the grid and analyze the grid-connected PV performance, taking into account the state of charge (SOC) and load current.
