Development of an Augmented Reality-Based Application to Support Reading Skills in Children with Learning Disabilities

This study presents the development and evaluation of augmented reality (AR)- based application designed to enhance reading skills among children with learning disabilities in inclusive classrooms. The application incorporates speech recognition, visual aids and interactive multimedia tailored to the phonetic complexity of the Thai language. By leveraging AR, the tool provides a multi-sensory learning environment that supports individualized instruction and promotes student engagement. The research utilizes a structured research and development (R&D) methodology, focusing on the design, implementation, and expert evaluation of the learning module. Findings suggest that the AR-based innovation can improve literacy outcomes and promote equitable access to education for students with special needs. This approach supports inclusive education by providing meaningful learning opportunities aligned with each learner's needs.
