Abstract

As AI becomes a part of HR, traditional employee performance assessment, feedback, and development methods are undergoing change. With AI-powered performance management systems, you can analyze employee data, gain insights into patterns, give ongoing feedback, and help managers make evidence-based decisions. This study looks at how AI performance management impacts employee motivation, focusing on perceived fairness, the quality of feedback, recognition, transparency, engagement, and career growth opportunities. It examines the possibilities of smart HR technologies to enhance motivation and the part of human involvement in making performance-based decisions. It is recommended to use a quantitative research method and to gather the primary data from the employees in an organization that has an HR system based on AI. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis can be applied to the data to investigate the relationship between the practices of performance management and employee motivation using AI. The study also looks into the potential problems of algorithmic bias, privacy of data, over-monitoring, lack of transparency, and employee queries regarding the automated assessment. The results are hoped to show that AI can support performance management processes, but should not be used as a substitute for managerial judgment and interpersonal interactions. The study contributes to the continuing discussion about smart HR systems, stressing the humanization of HR practices, bringing them into line with technological possibilities. It posits that how AI is used in performance management could set the stage for a more continuous, personalized, transparent and development-focused approach to performance management, for both the individual and the institution.
